The examples of other dog owners ecperiencing similar problems with their dogs that you are also experiencing with your dog. You have something to work towards and can see if you put in the work you too can have a well behaved dog. The dog training sessions with a dog trainer are also incredibly helpful because you can ask questions and get useful advice.
A few years ago we decided we really wanted a dog. We had dogs all our lives. We searched the available dogs until we found Stella. She is Pitbull/Labrador and stubborn as they come. Using your methods we have been able to calm her to the point of not barking and every dog that passed by the house. Her worst point was jumping on anyone coming through the door. We had struggled with that for a long time. She loves people and dogs to the extreme. She now well greet them without jumping. She has made so much progress. We still have to work on the walk, but I have faith we can calm her on the walk also. She pulls so hard, she is all muscle. The walk is our next project, and since she has come this far, I am confident she will be a calm walking companion.
I could see changes in my 8 month old puppy, within a day of using Doggy Dans Calming Code. Everything he says makes so much sense. Training your dog works better when you are thinking like a dog
The best part of the training is how much more calm Barkley is. I’m still working on ‘the walk’ part. The videos are very clear and good examples which give me confidence to try things. I love learning about how dogs think.
I’m still listening to it as I listen on my way to work. It’s a process applying what I’m learning. I haven’t seen a whole lot of changes in my dog yet, but I am seeing small ones. I believe in this process and hope it helps once I’m applying all the rules!
From constant barking down to occasional outbursts which are quickly calmed. A huge improvement especially in my stress levels ! Thank you
We have two rescue pups known as The Kray twins and this has helped massively!
The instructions are clear and step by step. They seem too simple to be true, but they make total sense once you think about what you are actually doing. They make a person see the seemingly harmless things we do and why they aren’t harmless. The worst moment, and they still happen from time to time, is going crazy in the yard barking at the neighbors. I have almost convinced them that there is no “danger”!
Hicup is now calm while listening and showing much more respect!
Guto, my 7 yr old Airedale was barking at everything that went by our house. He’d stand on my bed and bark, bark at my sliding door, even at people and dogs he knew well. I started using “Thank you”. I only had to say it twice 2 or 3 times, time out once and he got it. We live in a condo so it was really important that he learn this so he wouldn’t be bothering our neighbors. Once the 5 rules are in place everything is like magic. Best training I ever got.
Simple practices that make a powerful impact! My dog suddenly has respect for me and tunes into me more readily. I was shocked that I could easily call him off of chasing a runner across the field!
How quickly behavioral transformations happen and how easy the methods are to apply.
Doggy Dan’s training is an amazing approach that I had never heard before. He’s diffierent than other trainers using very practical methods that are based in dog psychology. It’s pretty amazing. And the results do show themselves pretty quickly. Repetition and consistency is key. Thank you Doggy Dan!
We probably all know about pack leaders in the wild but wouldn’t really think about bringing it into our homes. With just the simple step of eating over the food bowl and letting my pup know I’ll decide when the bowl goes down was a marked turning point to having her realize she’s not the alpha. So many positive behaviour changes from that one exercise. We’ve moved into a better relationship with her sibling dog, minimal barking at the fence and really improved recall.
It seems as though my chihuahua may have been mistreated previously. She just really dislikes tall men. Whenever my husband would enter the room or even stand up while being in the same room Susie Q would go crazy barking at him. We put her in time out and then she realize she would be going into time out so she would run away from us when we were trying to catch her. So then I started putting her on a leash when I knew my husband would be coming home. That enabled me to catch her and put her in time out when the barking occurred. She is now so much better after 4 or 5 timeouts. No longer goes crazy barking at him.
Detailed and good flow
Started the five elements of the dog calming code and already seeing a difference in my dogs behaviour. I like that it is an easy approach to dog training and doesn't rely on treats or other tools.
Still working on issues but this is a very good program. Getting hubby on board is a work in progress but he can see the results to. I like that you can select a specific issue and work on that. Definitely makes sense to think like a dog would and train accordingly. Training the owners to change their mindset is the best thing we can do for our dogs. It's the owners who need to understand first. When they do a happy obedient calm dog will soon follow. Thank you
I love Dan’s Calming Code method to instil leadership with your canine companions without using force or aversive methods. I’ve already been using some of the techniques and my dogs have always had manners but just taking the time to calm them in certain situations has really helped! Thank you Doggy Dan!!
